Fun Facts Friday

1. My new favorite app these days is Oyster. It is basically the equivalent of Netflix for books. For $10 a month, you get unlimited access to a wide variety of books. Sign up using this link and we will both get a $15 credit!

2. This.

3. I'm not going to know what to do with my Monday nights after this season of the Bachelorette ends.

4. I stumbled upon this list of life changing ways to eat a chocolate chip cookie. I love that two bloggers who I follow are included!

5. I finished Season 4 of Friday Night Lights. Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.

6. We watched They Came Together this week. It was laugh out loud funny.

7. Sara and I hosted book club. The book was The Hundred Foot Journey and our spread rivaled some of the dishes described in the book.

8. Twice this week, we popped bottles of champagne. Sometimes you just need to celebrate Tuesday.

9. We've been listening to Stay with Me and Problem on repeat recently. One of our interns asked if these were the only songs we listened to. My response "If you aren't going to stay with me, then I've got one less problem without you."

10. Can we talk about Tory Burch's new line for Fit Bit? When I first heard about it I was pretty excited, since my sister always tells me to take off my Fit Bit since it isn't the most attractive thing. Now, I want to know who can justify spending $200 on a gold bracelet to conceal their Fit Bit. Not this girl.

11. Happy Friday!

The Friday Five

1. Reading:
I read this one in two days!
From Amazon: A touching new novel from bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand in which a woman sets out to find love for those closest to her - before it's too late.

2. Watching:
I needed some Tami Taylor in my life, so I started Season 4 of Friday Night Lights this week. I'm a few episodes in but am not sure how I feel about this season.

3. Listening to:
Needtobreathe - "Multiplied"

4. Recipe I'm bookmarking:
source
This Asparagus, Egg, and Bacon Salad from Skinny Taste. I made it last night and served it over mixed baby greens with red onion, mushrooms, and chicken.

5. Loving:
My new phone case that I got from the J. Crew Outlet for $5!
The setup of this home office.
And this living room!
Happy Friday!

Fourth Recap

Last weekend, I headed to the beach for a much needed vacation. After three events in two weeks, I was looking forward to some time away with the family. Here is a recap of my time away.
We spent the week taking lots of long walks both on the road and on the beach.
Mom, Dad, and I took a night off from cooking and went to the Chive Blossom for dinner. I branched out and had the grilled tuna with wasabi slaw, mustard-soy vinaigrette, and crispy noodles. It was one of the best meals I have ever had at a restaurant.
We stayed on the beach for as long as possible. I finally finished reading After You and started another book.
Hurricane Arthur brought bad weather on Thursday but gave me an excuse to spend lots of time in the kitchen.
I made a corn dip, caramel brownies, and guacamole. The corn dip is super easy to make: one bag of frozen corn thawed, a block of cream cheese, and diced jalapenos. Mix together and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
I spent lots of quality time with this cutie. I love her so much.
On Thursday night, my two handsome dates took us to Party on the Moon. Their vintage Lilly pants were a hit.
I love when the five of us are all together.
We danced the night away.
Friday morning, we were up bright and early for the parade. My cousin went all out getting everything ready. The parade has turned into quite the water fight. We were completely drenched by the time we made it back to the house.
It really was a great week away. I hope everyone had a great fourth!
